Summer is in full swing and more than two-thirds of Americans plan to take a vacation. Personal finance website WalletHub released a report on 2021’s Most Fun States in America.

There are certain states where fun is not an option, but a way of life. These states offer a variety of activities and everyone will be able to find something they like. When planning your 2021 summer vacation, keep these states in mind.

To determine the states offering the greatest variety and most cost-effective activities for enjoyment, WalletHub compared all 50 states across 26 key metrics that range from movie costs to accessibility of national parks to casinos per capita.

After doing the research, WalletHub found the overall Top 5 Most Fun States in America are California, Florida, Nevada, New York and Illinois.

Some other key findings were: California has the most movie theaters and most restaurants per square root of population; Texas has the most amusement parks; and Massachusetts has the highest personal spending on recreation services per capita.
