Home Alone at Deer Path Inn

Located outside Chicago, near where Kevin McAllister found himself left alone on Christmas, Deer Path Inn used inspiration from the classic film Home Alone to create the Lost in the Lake Forest Suite Experience. Available exclusively through the inn’s Cornwall Suite, this experience includes bath robes upon arrival for guests to keep, a gift box of specialty treats from the local Sweet’s of Lake Forest, an in-room screening of Home Alone and gift cards for shopping at the Lake Forest Bookstore and other local shops. This festive experience is available until Jan. 2, 2022.

It’s a Wonderful Life at the Finger Lakes

Seneca Falls, New York, the inspiration behind Frank Capra’s It’s a Wonderful Life, celebrates the classic film at the It’s a Wonderful Life Museum. With this year marking the movie’s 75th anniversary, the museum will display photographs and memorabilia from Karolyn Grimes’ collection, the actress who played Zuzu in the film. To have the ultimate It’s a Wonderful Life experience, stay at The Gould Hotel, a century-old hotel just steps from the museum and bridge said to inspire two scenes in the film.

White Christmas at Club Med Québec

Stay at the new all-inclusive Club Med Québec this winter to have a holiday reminiscent of the holiday film, White Christmas. Surrounded by Le Massif de Charlevoix mountains, the resort overlooks snowcapped pine trees and hills. Such hills mean fun outdoor activities like dog sledding and ice skating. Inside the resort lies a cozy fireplace, nights of live entertainment and calming spa treatments.

A Castle for Christmas at Exclusive Resorts’ Residences at Eden Club

The Eden Club in St Andrews, Scotland, offers guests the chance to stay in the five-person residences located at Pittormie Castle. Travel like the characters from the Netflix holiday film A Castle for Christmas and experience the elegant features of the historic club. From on-site spa treatments to a round of golf, spend the winter season in the heart of Scotland just like the feel-good movie.

Remarkable Medellín

Visiting Medellín in Colombia: The Country of Beauty is like stepping into a fantastic story — literally, as the city in the Western Colombian Andes region inspired Disney’s Encanto. Here, valleys, the world’s tallest palms, vibrant communities, colorful houses, garden-like balconies and more prove reality is more picturesque than anything on film. And it’s especially more tempting following Medellín’s remarkable transformation, shedding its troubled past and reawakening as a city of innovation, art, cultural richness, modern infrastructure, thriving tourism and resiliency.
