Turkish Airlines debuts a new way to share its culture with guests through cuisine with a new offering. The airline introduced “The Oldest Bread” to its in-flight service menu, which made its inaugural debut on a Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul (IGA) to New York City (JFK).
Now available to Intercontinental Business Class passengers, this bread is served heated and in a special bag with butter and olive oil before meal service. This bread reflects Turkish Airlines’ efforts to showcase the country’s history of Anatolian agriculture that began 12,000 years ago in the Taş Tepeler region.
“As the flag carrier that offers the world’s finest flavors to its guests and receiving numerous accolades for it from world renowned organizations, we are pleased to introduce our business class travelers to the world’s oldest bread grown from the reproduction of ancient wheat discovered in excavations in the Anatolia region,” said Ahmet Bolat, chairman of the board and executive committee professor, Turkish Airlines. “With this bread, traditional to Turkish cuisine and significant to global culinary history, we aim to blend past and present together on our inflight guest experiences. We hope that our new menu item will be appreciated by our guests as we continue our award-winning leadership in the field of inflight dining.”
