Turkish Airlines last month said it will need to postpone its order for several Airbus Group SE and Boeing narrow-body jets. Turkish Airlines is struggling a bit in a difficult travel market for the Middle East. According to Bloomberg, the airline is pushing back the “deliveries of 39 of the upgraded single-aisle planes originally scheduled for 2018 to 2020.” The airline is also raising the deliveries from six to 30.
Turkish Airlines explained it is reducing flight frequencies and “shifting to smaller planes on demand challenged routes.”
Turkish Airlines, one of the most profitable airlines in the world in the last decade, sees this year as a “hiccup,” according to Ilker Ayci, company chairman, Turkish Airlines, who was quoted in the Taipei Times.
Ayci says he expects long-term growth thanks to the new İstanbul airport by the Black Sea. It has a capacity to see 90 million passengers annually in just the first phase after opening, and eventually could handle up to 150 million.
“The airport will be very important for our growth,” explained Ayci. “We are so excited.”

New Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours blend the best of whitewater rafting with sightseeing during splashy Wet Jet Boat Tours — or you can opt for the dry option in a boat protected by a glass dome. Whatever your choice, boats launch from Water Street in Lewiston (safety-regulated height and age limits apply to participants).
