To celebrate the start of summer, Tradewind Aviation relaunches its Newport scheduled service, offering travelers direct access to Newport State Airport from the New York Metropolitan area.

The service is set to return June 22, with Tradewind Aviation inviting weekenders, vacation homeowners and anyone looking to explore the history, culture and coastal setting of Newport.

As a premium operator of private and scheduled flights throughout the United States and Caribbean, Tradewind Aviation will offer flight service between Westchester County Airport and Newport State Airport in Middletown, Rhode Island, located 10 minutes from downtown Newport. In New York, flights will depart from Million Air private terminal, which offers complimentary parking, a valet service and streamlined security, allowing guests to arrive at the terminal just 30 minutes before departure.

The service features round-trip flights Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday, along with select holiday Tuesdays between June 25 and Sept. 5. Flight times are only about 35 minutes each way and rates range $145–445 per seat each way.

Guests can expect an enjoyable, comfortable and convenient flight in the fleet of Pilatus PC-12 aircraft. Every flight features complimentary refreshments, snacks, wine, beer and the latest issue of the airline’s in-flight magazine.

“Newport is one of those special places that once you’ve experienced it, you can’t wait to go back. We’re excited to relaunch our annual summer flights to offer travelers convenience from the greater New York area to one of New England’s most distinguished hotspots [sic],” said David Zipkin, co-founder and CMO, Tradewind Aviation. “Our unique fleet of Pilatus PC-12 aircraft ensures a comfortable flight and is perfectly suited for the relatively small runway in Newport, offering our guests an easy and efficient way to enjoy all that Newport has to offer while avoiding summer traffic.”

Escape to Tahiti for a Captivating Island-Hopping Cruise

The 118 islands of French Polynesia reveal themselves layer by fascinating layer, with the spirit of mana (vital force) linking them all the way from Tahiti to the remote reaches of the Marquesas. This is part of the world best savored on a journey that dives as deep into culture as natural beauty, both above and below the water’s surface. A cruise makes it easy to cover a lot of ground while unpacking just once (and sneaking in some work done in comfort, too, during at-sea days). And cruising offers particular appeal within this semi-autonomous French territory sprawling across nearly 2 million square miles of ocean and covering five archipelagos.

The Shelbourne Review

Facing the vast St. Stephen’s Green in the heart of Dublin sits the iconic and historic The Shelbourne. Few hotels master the perfect blend of history and luxury, but The Shelbourne gets it right. The site of the signing of the Irish Constitution in 1922 granting the Republic of Ireland its freedom from England, The Shelbourne has hosted its fair share of notable figures, from Michael Collins to Princess Grace Kelly to John Ford, the latter of which was the name of my suite.
