There’s More To London Than Royal Babies

Aug 12, 2013
Daily / Exclusive

Yes, we’ve heard the news — there’s an adorable new prince in town. Tiny royalty aside, London is a never-ending treasure trove for visitors interested in the world of kings and queens. What to do: Snag a great room at the Royal Garden Hotel, where Kensington Palace is literally in your back yard. Tour the palace’s fascinating Fashion Rules exhibit, with frocks worn by the Queen, Diana, Princess of Wales, and Princess Margaret — who was married to noted fashion photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones.

After, have a leisurely lunch or enjoy a special Fashion Rules Afternoon Tea in the palace’s 18th century Orangery restaurant (once the location for court parties). Through September, spend the afternoon touring the gardens at Buckingham Palace.

Back at the hotel, press the lift button for the top floor and head to Min Jiang for authentic Dim Sum and a specialty cocktail. Choose from a Midnight Lotus, Min Jiang Phoenix, Oriental Mojito — or stick to your majestic theme with a Kir Royale.
