The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park’s Club Lounge reopened Sept. 1; the only five-diamond private club lounge in New York City initially opened after a multimillion-dollar hotel renovation in 2019, but its time open was cut short due to the pandemic.

On the hotel’s second floor, boasting views of Central Park, the Club Lounge acts as an intimate space for guests to relax, dine and enjoy exclusive experiences like wine and spirit tastings. At 3,000-plus square feet, the lounge accommodates 50, with décor in shades of green, beige velvet and leather.

Along with the re-opening came an exclusive wellness-inspired menu that will rotate daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and change seasonally. Complimentary culinary presentations from local producers will be held daily, as will pre-dinner beverages from the Champagne cart and a caviar tasting. There’s also a dedicated on-site concierge and an exclusive hotel partnership with Fifth Avenue Club at Saks Fifth Avenue. Children are permitted in the lounge, which boasts plenty to keep families entertained like games, books, a candy display and the Ritz Kids activity book.

Hotel Van Zandt Review

One step onto Austin’s Rainey Street and you’ll feel like you’ve joined the cool kids at the best playground in the city. Just behind the cottage bars, pint-sized skyscrapers soar. One of them, Hotel Van Zandt, the Rainey district's pièce de resistance, beckons with a song-like spirit —apropos because the independently owned property, rife with music motifs, was named after beloved singer-songwriter Townes Van Zandt. Sixteen stories high, the hotel embodies Austin’s lust for music, manifesting with a vinyl corner; trumpet chandeliers; myriad musical references; replica vintage posters in frames; and its own live music venue, which doubles as its acclaimed restaurant, Geraldine’s. Don’t miss the mesmerizing installation of colorful origami-like birds composed from vinyl records that flitter from an old phonograph.
