Marking its first presence on the eastern coast of Thailand’s Koh Samui, The Ritz-Carlton announced the newest addition to its collection with the opening of The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui.

Located on the tropical Gulf of Thailand, the new hotel combines the brand’s legendary service with the traditional spirit of Thai hospitality and Samui island culture.

The resort offers 175 suites and pool villas on 58 acres overlooking the Gulf. Built on the site of a former coconut plantation, the resort pays homage to its past through the extensive use of coconut and other locally sourced natural materials.

Resort guests enjoy authentic southern Thai cuisine at fine-dining venue Pak Tai, as well as the 3,800-square-metre Spa Village Koh Samui, incorporating the local healing culture, complete with eight treatment rooms, three massage pavilions, a yoga pavilion, health bar and a lap pool with private cabanas.

Other dining concepts include Shook!, a stylish interactive dining space serving innovating Asian and Western dishes; Sea Salt, offering international classics and Thai favorites in a relaxed atmosphere; Tides, a spot to unwind with refreshing cocktails and poolside bites; and One Rai, a cocktail bar serving creative Asian small plates. On select days, guests can visit Baan Talat, an outdoor food market experience with street food stalls, dancing and crafts.

Unique experiences at The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui include traditional fitness classes at Muay Thai Gym, and a one-of-a-kind Swim Reef within the resort, offering snorkeling among 50 species of fish.
