Elote Time in Guatemala

At Villa Bokeh, guests can take part in La Experiencia Maiz, an experience inspired by one of the country’s most loved ingredients: corn. Called elote in Guatemala, this superfood undergoes a process akin to textile weaving, with careful cultivation and cooking to create that mouth-watering flavor. The experience celebrates farmers, the elote-making process and the ingredient’s many uses. Guests can enjoy a selection of bite-sized pieces made with different varieties of elote to understand just how much care goes into this ingredient.

At Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, don a specialty Aruba Marriott chef’s apron and take part in a private cooking class with the executive chef. The chef shows guests how to make a traditional pastechi, a half-moon shaped dish filled with gouda cheese. Be creative with your pastechi and choose from a variety of fillings, including ham, chicken, fish, potato and spinach, feta, tomatoes, vegetables, gouda, and an array of sauces, from sambal pica to pica di papaya to pica de papaya aioli.

Grand Universe Lucca highlights the region’s best wines and olive oils with three Tuscan wine tasting experiences and an olive oil tasting experience. The Tuscan Wine & Olive Oil experience includes guests’ selections of two wines (Montalcino, Montecarlo, Super Tuscan and Chianti Classico) and an olive-oil tasting experience. The session dives into the production of local wines and olive oils, delving into the connection and elements of the Tuscan region. After the experience, guests can enjoy the resort’s rotation of wine in the ancient Eterno Wine Cellar, featuring an old wall and an extensive collection of Tuscan wines.

 

Secret Vegan Menu in Puerto Rico

At Caribe Hilton’s top-notch restaurant Caribar, guests can finally taste some of the island’s best vegan dishes through this secret menu. When at the restaurant, use code word ‘homegrown’ upon ordering to have access to a full vegan menu, each dish made with the freshest ingredients. All ingredients are locally sourced, providing a special farm-to-table experience. Dishes include butternut squash risotto, grilled portobello, truffle essence soul and flourless chocolate cake.

Cape Cod’s award-winning Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club recently launched its Clam ‘Chowdah’ Cook Off to provide guests with the ultimate Cape Cod culinary experience. Guests can put on their cooking aprons and hats to create this iconic dish. The chef guides guests on how to make the classic New England clam chowder. Guests can replicate the recipe or add their own flair to the dish by adding a selection of vegetables, from corn to tomatoes, carrots to sweet potato. At the end of the class, the chef samples each of the chowders and selects a winner. The winner receives dining credit to put toward another delicious meal on property.
