Aurora Fossil Museum
As I continue to explore places in North Carolina, I decided to take a trip to Aurora. This little town doesn’t offer much for tourists, but there is a cozy restaurant, Frank and Shirley’s, my friends have raved about. On Friday nights they have all-you-can-eat fried flounder that’s touted as the best around. Unfortunately, Frank and Shirley’s is closed on Sunday, but we were there for the town’s other unique draw: Aurora Fossil Museum.

The sound of the waves as I stare at the moon from the top deck of Luckie Lady is one of my favorite memories. That’s how calmly we wrapped up summer in the Outer Banks, North Carolina … exactly what we needed after juggling so much.

Looking Back on My 2022 Travel Memories
After looking at different destinations and travel options for an end-of-year trip for nearly two months, my fiancé, Nathan, and I decided to skip the big trip this year as we start getting ready for our wedding and focus on a few smaller trips next year. However, I do happen to have one more business trip for the year that actually lands on my birthday week, so that makes missing the trip an easier decision.
