Mind-Clearing Morning Walks
There is nothing like being a morning person. For me, there’s just something about being up and about first thing in the morning. Since COVID struck and my gym closed, I worked out at home, but I found myself spending too much time inside, so I started walking. To make sure I didn’t get caught up in my day and sidetracked, I decided morning would be the best time. What’s been great about this time for myself? I not only get exercise, but I also mentally prepare for my day and what’s ahead. Whether it’s checklists of things I need to do for work or meetings to prep for, I relish the time to myself to organize what’s ahead. I’ve also started meditating during these walks, enjoying the beauty of my neighborhood and showing gratitude for the blessings I’ve been given. My dog has really enjoyed the walks as well and, I have to say, is out of bed like a rocket in the morning knowing what’s in store for him once I roll out of bed. It’s truly a win/win: I get my steps in and clear my head; he gets to patrol the neighborhood and make new friends.
