Back to Backlot Bash
In the early 1900s, filmmakers felt Skokie, a suburb just north of Chicago, resembled an old prairie town and made it a popular choice for shooting westerns. The Niles Center (now Skokie Theatre) showed movies shot just feet away. About a century later, in 2007, Skokie's Backlot Bash debuted, paying homage to the village's roots.

First Wine Festival
Last weekend I attended my first-ever wine festival. Since I turned 21, I have been a fan of trying beverages from different creators. I typically am a bigger fan of beer than of wine, but I did not want to turn down an opportunity to try a bunch of local wineries.
