Travelers attempting to reach Sydney Airport by train will find they have more options, thanks to increasing train frequency on the T2 Airport Line due later this year.

An additional 200 weekly airport train services will be added by the end of 2017.

According to Transport for NSW, the government department that oversees the train, the increase in frequency will bring average waiting times for trains between Central Station and the domestic and international stations at Sydney Airport to 7.5 minutes at off-peak weekday hours and on weekends. Late night wait times are expected to be cut in half to 15 minutes.

“The additional services will make it even more convenient for visitors to catch the train to and from the airport, especially on weekends when trains will be more frequent,” said Kerrie Mather, managing director and CEO, Sydney Airport.

The NSW Government has made strides in improving the transportation network around and to Sydney Airport. Other changes include upgrades to the T2 and T3 taxi holding area, and the opening of the T2/T3 ride-sharing priority pick-up zones.

The changes are occurring in concert with Sydney Airport’s own five-year ground access improvement initiative that involves multiple enhancements.

“The scope of work that Sydney Airport and the NSW Government are undertaking to make it easier to travel to and from the airport by car, taxi or public transport is unprecedented,” Mather added. “Our upgrades within the terminal precincts have resulted in significant improvements to the travel experience for airport visitors, commuters and other road users since our works began in 2014, while the NSW Government’s key Airport East and Airport West road projects are also well under way.”

Grand Hotel Des Bains Kempinski St. Moritz Review

Switzerland’s most storied ski town (the one, in fact, credited with pioneering the very concept of Alpine tourism), St. Moritz legendarily attracts the rich, the famous, celebutantes and the wannabes. Yet, there’s something compellingly earthy about the place, a town on a lake rich with natural environs, where winter sports and summer activities draw athletes and mountain lovers aplenty. As at the mountain restaurants (where some arrive by chairlift rather than muscle movement, and all types of diners and imbibers convene), Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski St. Moritz straddles the old and new, the lavish and the understated. The hotel, one of St. Moritz’s oldest, opened as a spa haven in 1864, set atop a healing mineral spring.
