This fall, The Store Oxford graces the historic city of Oxford, England, bringing charm and luxury to guests across its 101 guestrooms. The hotel takes up the former Boswells department store, one of the world’s oldest family-owned department stores on record, integrating history with modernity. Founded in 1738, the department store-turned-hotel carries the brand’s legacy into a new age.

The hotel, owned by EQ Hotels, also behind the recently opened Hôtel Dame des Arts in Paris, sees former Boswells employees return, ensuring the same beloved hospitality remains.

Upon entering, the lobby offers guests both a space of relaxation and work, with light-filled co-working spaces across 1,800 square feet. Guestrooms feature playful touches with a nod to the department store’s past, with plush velvet headboards, comfortable king-sized beds, spacious bathrooms and unique artwork.

The Store Oxford’s signature restaurant, also slated to open this fall, will include a restaurant and café, both focusing on sustainably sourced produce and the many cultural influences of Oxford. Back in the lobby, Grand Lobby Bar features signature cocktails, classic concoctions and experiential teas.

Corendon Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel Review

There are a few words that come to mind when the subject of airport hotels comes up. Usually, fun, cute and lively aren’t on that list. When general manager Evgeny Vreijling or his team members welcome guests, they insist Corendon Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is not an airport hotel but a hotel that happens to be near the airport. He also emphasizes that, while Amsterdam is regarded as the gateway to Europe, the hotel was designed to be a gateway to the rest of the Netherlands.

Chessboxing Spikes Adrenaline in Players as Well as Spectators

The concepts of chess and boxing are so diametrically opposed, you wouldn’t expect to see the terms in the same sentence, let alone combined as a sport. The former is utterly cerebral and the latter extremely physical ... and yet they’re played together in a competition known as chessboxing.

Remarkable Medellín

Visiting Medellín in Colombia: The Country of Beauty is like stepping into a fantastic story — literally, as the city in the Western Colombian Andes region inspired Disney’s Encanto. Here, valleys, the world’s tallest palms, vibrant communities, colorful houses, garden-like balconies and more prove reality is more picturesque than anything on film. And it’s especially more tempting following Medellín’s remarkable transformation, shedding its troubled past and reawakening as a city of innovation, art, cultural richness, modern infrastructure, thriving tourism and resiliency.
