SLS Hotels & Residences makes its European debut this winter on Spain’s Mediterranean coastline in Barcelona, where the city’s excellent climate keeps winter temperatures pleasant. SLS Barcelona hits the waterside district of Port Fòrum, where a large marina is 15 minutes from city center.
SLS Barcelona’s building has a striking undulating façade that emulates the waves of the sparkling Mediterranean, and offers 471 luxurious rooms and suites; six distinct restaurant and bar venues; three pools; a spa; extensive event spaces; and a large, spectacular ballroom.

Since the opening of the first SLS property in Beverly Hills in 2008, the SLS brand has continued to be one of the leaders in the luxury hospitality field with its opulent interiors and reputation for high guest services.
SLS Barcelona is a creative collaboration between leading designers, including AIME Studios, AvroKO and the Rockwell Group, and these relationships resulted in hotel spaces that are functional yet flamboyant. Regular SLS guests will notice the brand’s design signatures sprinkled throughout the interiors, from the striking light-studded entrance hall to the use of textured fabrics and embellishments throughout the hotel.
All rooms and suites combine deluxe design features and modern opulence to create the ultimate V.I.P.-style accommodation, whether in a Delight Guestroom or Celestial Suite. In most rooms, balconies and terraces are positioned for guests to take in views over the marina and Mediterranean Sea beyond.

SLS Barcelona brings six new dining, drinking and nightlife concepts to the Port Fòrum district. An all-day restaurant will feature a large wood oven and coal-fired grill with a menu drawing from the Mediterranean’s noted fish and seafood offerings, and will sit beside an informal tapas bar that will appeal to both locals and visitors. On the top of the hotel is a day-to-night pool bar and club on one of the largest waterfront rooftops in Barcelona. A lavish lobby bar and another pool and pool bar round out the trendy and exclusive scene.
At SLS, even the meeting and large social spaces are designed to delight guests and visitors attending hotel events. The ballroom is almost 8,600 square fee, flooded with natural light thanks to oversized windows and custom skylights. A dedicated events lobby leads to eight flexible private spaces.

For guests looking for leisure amenities, there’s three pools surrounded by chic cabanas and stylish lounges, and a state-of-the-art wellness center offering a well-equipped gym. There’s also a sleek spa that will join the wellness center in early 2025.
SLS Barcelona is located within easy reach of the city’s main cultural hot spots, yet removed from the hustle and bustle of tourist centers.
Winter will see SLS Barcelona open its doors to its very first guests, offering special rates and exclusive early access to some of the hotel’s fabulous facilities ahead of the grand unveiling. Dis-loyalty, a game-changing travel and food membership, offers a 50 percent discount on all stays at SLS Barcelona between December 2024 and April 2025.

Corfu, or Kerkyra, as the Greeks call it, is arguably one of the most beautiful islands in Greece — and one of the most cultured. Part of the Ionian Islands located off the western coast of Greece and Albania, it boasts a storied history dating back nearly 3,000 years and a heritage shaped by many foreign rulers who made it their own.

May 14, 2025Hotel Van Zandt Review
One step onto Austin’s Rainey Street and you’ll feel like you’ve joined the cool kids at the best playground in the city. Just behind the cottage bars, pint-sized skyscrapers soar. One of them, Hotel Van Zandt, the Rainey district's pièce de resistance, beckons with a song-like spirit —apropos because the independently owned property, rife with music motifs, was named after beloved singer-songwriter Townes Van Zandt. Sixteen stories high, the hotel embodies Austin’s lust for music, manifesting with a vinyl corner; trumpet chandeliers; myriad musical references; replica vintage posters in frames; and its own live music venue, which doubles as its acclaimed restaurant, Geraldine’s. Don’t miss the mesmerizing installation of colorful origami-like birds composed from vinyl records that flitter from an old phonograph.
