Ca’Select, Select Aperitivo’s newly designed visitor center and distillery, recently opened in Venice, Italy. Select Aperitivo, the premium Italian aperitif and main ingredient of the original Venetian Spritz, welcomes visitors to its new facility in the Cannaregio district. Guests are greeted by custom-made mosaics at the entrance, followed by a floor made in Venetian Seminato style by Asin, an ancient family of Venetian terrazzo makers.

The brand, founded in 1920, saw Marcante-Testa Architects transform the facility into a refined space allowing visitors to experience Select Aperitivo in a Venetian setting. Every corner of the space tells a story, with masterful designs by Koskevoy Bodgan, a Ukrainian artist who triumphed in Select’s Ca’Select Arte competition.

The space features four areas. The bar-mixology area is the perfect spot for an authentic tasting of the original Venetian Spritz, while the events area offers one of the largest spaces in Venice dedicated to culture and socializing. The production area sees where the maceration of the herbs and spices in the product recipe takes place. The exhibition area, curated by Studio Fludd, features an interactive adventure showing a different and authentic Venice.

Beyond these four spaces, guests can appreciate the details incorporated throughout the space. The steel bar counter is covered with fused glass plates in typical Murano style, designed to represent the waves of the Venetian Lagoon. Walls are covered with handmade white-and-red zellige tiles.

Ca’ Select will release event listings and pricing for tours in the coming months.

Remarkable Medellín

Visiting Medellín in Colombia: The Country of Beauty is like stepping into a fantastic story — literally, as the city in the Western Colombian Andes region inspired Disney’s Encanto. Here, valleys, the world’s tallest palms, vibrant communities, colorful houses, garden-like balconies and more prove reality is more picturesque than anything on film. And it’s especially more tempting following Medellín’s remarkable transformation, shedding its troubled past and reawakening as a city of innovation, art, cultural richness, modern infrastructure, thriving tourism and resiliency.

Atticus Hotel Review

This homespun country inn is most associated with a wine country vacation, commonly decorated with “craftsman”- or “farmhouse”-inspired décor. While these often-folksy inns provide a sense of place, Erin Stephenson and Brian Shea, founders of Atticus Hotel, shook up that formula ever so slightly. Rather than go the “quaint” route, an eclectic and urbane mix of furnishings and accents blend the Pacific Southwest Americana of Willamette Valley hub McMinnville with the contemporary sensibility of Portland, located 40 miles south.

Immerse in Retro Style and Aviation History at TWA Hotel

Stepping into the lobby at TWA Hotel transports travelers in a whole different way. While most people plan vacations to travel to another destination, this particular hub instead takes you back in time to the golden era of aviation. The award-winning space resides in the expertly designed and restored former Trans World Airlines Flight Center, originally constructed by Eero Saarinen in 1962. Two added wings house more than 500 guestrooms overlooking the runways at the airport. But unlike many other airport hotels that get a bad rap, these rooms are insulated from the noise and activity surrounding the airport.
