Travelers at Saint James Paris can find a new unique perspective of its gardens, a hallmark of the property, when staying in one of two new private Pavilion Rooms in the chateau’s former gatehouses. Each boasts a terrace and private spa. Interior designer Laura Gonzalez, who designed the hotel and its adjacent villa, led the Pavilion Rooms’ full renovation.
“Staying in the Pavilions is like experiencing in your own private cottage in central Paris,” said Laure Pertusier, general manager, Saint James Paris. “We’re so pleased to be able to offer this unique experience to guests to enjoy these special gardens in privacy yet have access to our five-star services of the hotel just steps away.”
A dedicated garden path leads to the Pavilion’s terrace. Each is 860 square feet across three floors, with a living room, primary bedroom and en-suite shower, a private spa with large jet bathtub, a dry sauna, a pull-out sofa, and exercise bike.
The Pavilions, named Elise and Félicie, honor Elise and Félicie Dosne, the wife and sister-in-law of former French president Adophe Thiers, in whose memory they erected the building that is now Saint James Paris. It was originally a foundation for the best students in France from 1892 to 1985.

Remarkable Medellín
Visiting Medellín in Colombia: The Country of Beauty is like stepping into a fantastic story — literally, as the city in the Western Colombian Andes region inspired Disney’s Encanto. Here, valleys, the world’s tallest palms, vibrant communities, colorful houses, garden-like balconies and more prove reality is more picturesque than anything on film. And it’s especially more tempting following Medellín’s remarkable transformation, shedding its troubled past and reawakening as a city of innovation, art, cultural richness, modern infrastructure, thriving tourism and resiliency.

Oct 16, 2024Atticus Hotel Review
This homespun country inn is most associated with a wine country vacation, commonly decorated with “craftsman”- or “farmhouse”-inspired décor. While these often-folksy inns provide a sense of place, Erin Stephenson and Brian Shea, founders of Atticus Hotel, shook up that formula ever so slightly. Rather than go the “quaint” route, an eclectic and urbane mix of furnishings and accents blend the Pacific Southwest Americana of Willamette Valley hub McMinnville with the contemporary sensibility of Portland, located 40 miles south.

Oct 15, 2024Immerse in Retro Style and Aviation History at TWA Hotel
Stepping into the lobby at TWA Hotel transports travelers in a whole different way. While most people plan vacations to travel to another destination, this particular hub instead takes you back in time to the golden era of aviation. The award-winning space resides in the expertly designed and restored former Trans World Airlines Flight Center, originally constructed by Eero Saarinen in 1962. Two added wings house more than 500 guestrooms overlooking the runways at the airport. But unlike many other airport hotels that get a bad rap, these rooms are insulated from the noise and activity surrounding the airport.
