PONANT prepares for an exciting winter 2024/2025 season with itineraries and expeditions to Greenland, Scandinavia, Central America and beyond. Highlights of these new trips include a festival sailing attended by French chef Alain Ducasse and a Melanesia voyage hosted by one of the world’s most intrepid explorers.
Next year, PONANT adds two new polar itineraries venturing the icy expanses of Greenland. The first (March 6–21), travels from the Gulf of Saint Lawrence to the southwestern coast of Greenland, while the second (March 21–April 5) whisks guests away to Greenland’s Disko Bay, home to the largest icebergs in the northern hemisphere. The latter trip will see The Explorers Club member and storm chaser George Kourounis join the expedition and work with guests on a citizen science project for NASA.
PONANT also designed an expedition to the Ross Sea, which extends from the Antarctic coastline out into the Southern Ocean, to follow in the footsteps of legendary polar explorers. Guests will have the privilege of meeting and listening to lecturer and guide Jonathan Shackleton, descendant of Sir Ernest Shackleton, and historian Lucy Scott, great-granddaughter of Captain Robert Falcon Scott. This trip sets sail Feb. 16–March 9.
For the first time, Le Commandant Charcot will sail around Scandinavia during the late fall and winter months, with new itineraries offering immersive experiences into the region’s towns, Christmas markets, and winter traditions like dog sledding and reindeer rides. New trips include Autumn Splendours: From Lofoten to the Norwegian Fjords (Nov. 7–20, 2025) and Scandinavian Wonderland & Christmas Markets (Dec. 2–11 or Dec. 11–20).
From January to February 2025, PONANT will also offer four voyages through Canada’s St. Lawrence River, an industry first for a cruise ship.
