What Attracts Luxury Travelers To Egypt?
Egypt is becoming more of a destination for luxury travelers. Those looking for a quality and exotic experience can find boutique hotels in Cairo and dahabyias for luxury cruises on the Nile. The Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton properties throughout Egypt not only offer inspiring spas and health facilities; guests at the 5-star resorts along the Gulf of Aqaba and the Red Sea coast can also expect exceptional, high-quality services during their stay. In short, Egypt is now a destination that can serve budget travelers as well as luxury and private jetters.
What Do You Recommend For An Out-Of-The-Ordinary Egyptian Experience?
Tourists are discovering emerging destinations that offer unique and interesting experiences. At El Fayoum, Lake Qurum is a major place for duck hunting and bird watching. The area also includes the protected Wadi El-Rayan and Whale Valley, which contains some of the best-preserved fossil skeletons of extinct whales. In between the Bahariya and Farafra oases lie the Black and White deserts. The Black Desert gets its black color from the oxidation of the manganese in the rocks. The White Desert is a landscape of surreal beauty in which, over time, wind and weather have shaped a gigantic sculpture park out of the chalk and limestone rocks.
If You Were To Offer One Must-See Destination In Egypt, What Would It Be?
For the first-timer in Egypt, there are many must-see destinations. As the Great Pyramid is the only remaining ancient wonder, the Pyramids of Giza are certainly on the list. I would recommend that travelers also visit the temples of Luxor and Abu Simbel, take a cruise on the Nile and visit the famous Old Cairo quarters and bazaars. Those who have been here before might enjoy a hot air balloon ride over Luxor or may want to dive the magnificent underwater gardens of coral reefs in the Red Sea. I encourage travelers to experience Cleopatra’s palace and the sunken city by diving in the eastern harbor off the Alexandria shore. A must-do for those in good health is to climb Mt. Sinai to enjoy the sunrise, a truly breathtaking experience.
Tell Our Readers About Your Carrer In The Tourism Industry.
After about 18 years in the information and media industry, I joined the Ministry of Tourism in 1993. I have participated in major international travel fairs and several official delegations on our quest to promote Egypt. Before my present assignment in New York, I served as director of ETA’s office in Los Angeles. Our New York office is currently our only working office in the United States and is responsible for promoting Egypt in Mexico and Latin America.
