Pittsburgh International Airport announces another milestone as part of its ongoing modernization project. As the airport gears up for record-breaking travel and a new terminal, Pittsburgh International Airport also expands its stores and restaurants. Fifteen new concessions will grace the airport.

The new lineup includes several local brands, such as Wexford-based coffee and tea house Café Conmigo. National brands like Jimmy John’s, Sambazon Acai, Bad Egg and more also come to the airport. Modern Deli Stack+Press Delicatessen, Mexican restaurant Mi Casa Cantina and Camden Food Market provide passengers with even more options.

Several new specialty retail stores will also open. Champion City Sports will not only offer Pittsburgh sports team wear and memorabilia but also items with collaborations from Vera Bradley. Other new retailers include MAC and Duquesne & Co. Most of these new concessions will open in the Airside Terminal from which all of the airport’s arriving and departing flights operate. Some stores and restaurants will also open in the airport’s new terminal, slated to open next year.

Australia’s Amazing Gold Coast Buzzes with Family-Friendly Activities

In Springbrook National Park, about 90 minutes south of Brisbane, the sky is aglow. But this isn’t the sort of glittery glimmer I expected from Australia’s buzzy Gold Coast. I’d heard about the sun-dappled beaches framed with scintillating sand, the sunscreen-slathered bodies at play, the way the ocean water whirls with what looks like bits of gold dust, the amusement parks, the meter maids clad in bikinis, and the high-rise hotels with their reflective-mirrored windows and popular bars that blare tunes beside the waves. Before arriving at what I imagined to look a bit like Miami’s South Beach in places (and it does along the coast in parts), I hadn’t focused much on thoughts of ancient trees, rugged outback and night skies luminous with glowworms. This nighttime nature foray, however, shows me another version of the Gold Coast ... one where nocturnal safaris veritably light up my life.
