Norwegian Cruise Line recently debuted the culinary and beverage experiences debuting on its new Norwegian Aqua, which sets sail in April 2025. The ship will boast three new offerings: Sukhothai, the cruise line’s first Thai restaurant; Swirl Wine Bar; and Planterie, Norwegian’s first dedicated eatery with a plant-based menu.

“Discovering new flavors and dining experiences is such a memorable part of any vacation, especially when you share it with those who matter most to you,” said David J. Herrera, president, Norwegian Cruise Line. “Expanding on our award-winning food and beverage program, we’re looking forward to bringing new concepts to life aboard Norwegian Aqua, while continuing to deliver on the variety of available offerings and value that NCL delivers.”

Sukhothai will feature an eclectic menu with authentic, traditional dishes; located on deck 17, décor includes bamboo and rice paper pendant lights, a geometric patterned floor, and colorful furnishings. In returning Indulge Food Hall, Planterie will offer plant-based bowls and healthy options, like the Southwest Bowl with smoked tempeh. Contemporary Swirl Wine Bar will be tucked away on deck six and boast a wine by the glass menu, and rare and premium vintages.

Norwegian Aqua also sees redesigns of some of the cruise line’s timeless venues, including Commodore Room, now featuring a rustic yet luxurious design; a distinct new look for Metropolitan, the modern Sail & Sustain cocktail bar; a new color palette for Nama Sushi and Sashimi; floor-to-ceiling windows at Surfside Café; natural materials used in an elevated design at Palomar; a relocation for Whiskey Bar and Belvedere Bar; new designs at Penrose Bar and Waves Pool Bar; and expansions at The Local Bar & Grill, Hasuki and Cagney’s.

Joining the new and redesigned eateries are some returning guest favorites: Hudson’s, Le Bistro, Los Lobos and Onda by Scarpetta.

Atticus Hotel Review

This homespun country inn is most associated with a wine country vacation, commonly decorated with “craftsman”- or “farmhouse”-inspired décor. While these often-folksy inns provide a sense of place, Erin Stephenson and Brian Shea, founders of Atticus Hotel, shook up that formula ever so slightly. Rather than go the “quaint” route, an eclectic and urbane mix of furnishings and accents blend the Pacific Southwest Americana of Willamette Valley hub McMinnville with the contemporary sensibility of Portland, located 40 miles south.

Immerse in Retro Style and Aviation History at TWA Hotel

Stepping into the lobby at TWA Hotel transports travelers in a whole different way. While most people plan vacations to travel to another destination, this particular hub instead takes you back in time to the golden era of aviation. The award-winning space resides in the expertly designed and restored former Trans World Airlines Flight Center, originally constructed by Eero Saarinen in 1962. Two added wings house more than 500 guestrooms overlooking the runways at the airport. But unlike many other airport hotels that get a bad rap, these rooms are insulated from the noise and activity surrounding the airport.
