This summer, Greenwood Hospitality opened its newest hotel in downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia. The Publisher, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel is located near the home of George Washington’s mother, Mary Washington, and the Lewis/Washington family farm in Fredericksburg, a town deeply rooted in American history.

Inspired by the legacy of the city’s oldest newspaper and the site’s last occupant, Fredericksburg Free Lance Star newspaper, The Publisher embodies Fredericksburg’s unique history. And for travelers who want to visit Mary Washington’s house, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register, and is located within Fredericksburg Historic District at 1200 Charles St. Travelers may visit the property, as well as other George Washington-related houses in Fredericksburg, and visitation schedules are available at Visit Washington Heritage Museums.

Guests at The Publisher can expect a sophisticated lobby; a locally inspired destination bar and restaurant; a flexible reception space; and accommodations that present a contemporary, cool vibe. The property also offers 1,800 square feet of meeting and event spaces.
