This year was a year to remember in the cruising industry. Royal Caribbean unveiled the all-new Utopia of the Seas, a sprawling vessel with eight “neighborhoods,” more than 20 restaurants, a park, underwater wonderland and AquaTheater.
Utopia of the Seas spans 18 decks and has a summer full of trips to destinations like the Bahamas. This year also saw the debut of Disney Cruise Lines’ Disney Treasure, where endless entertainment, kid-friendly activities and plenty of dining venues abound.
And Cunard proudly launched Queen Anne, the newest ship in its fleet. This ship features Cunard classics like the Queens Room Ballroom and Golden Lion Pub. Queen Anne also introduces the cruise line’s first-ever Bright Lights Society entertainment venue. The Pavilion, a space centered around wellbeing, also graces the ship.
While 2024 is an exciting year for cruises, 2025 and 2026 have much in store. Set to launch in 2025, Virgin Voyages’ Brilliant Lady marks the cruise line’s fourth addition to its fleet. Modern design and luxury are characteristic of this vessel. Highlights include Pink Agave, a Mexican restaurant, and On the Rocks, a space serving craft drinks by skilled mixologists. Scarlet Night entertains guests with interactive games, pop-up circus performances, live music and more. A spa and extensive fitness facility can also be found on board.
In fact, Brilliant Lady’s spa, named Redemption, features a thermal suite, mud room, salt room, sauna, hot and cold plunge pools, steam room, and heated marble hammam benches.
Also coming in 2025, Oceania Cruises’ Allura invites guests to experience spacious staterooms, high-end dining outlets and even a Chef’s Studio. With capacity for 1,400 guests across 15 decks, Allura also boasts an array of vibrant performances each evening. Allura will sail to destinations like the Eastern Mediterranean, including Greece, Monaco and Italy.
MSC’s newest ship, MSC World America, hits the seas in 2025, as well. This massive ship holds up to 6,761 guests and sets off on its maiden voyage next spring from Miami, venturing across the Caribbean. The ship will feature the cruise line’s largest water park, as well as Luna Park Studio, a multifunctional venue with 300 suites. More than 30 lounges, bars and dining venues span this large vessel. A Balinese spa, pools and fitness center also await.
Looking ahead to 2026, travelers seeking the ultimate luxurious trip on the seas should turn their eyes to Emerald Yacht Cruises. Emerald Kaia will be the latest addition to the fleet and will visit destinations like Seychelles, the Aegean, Adriatic Sea and the Mediterranean. This small ship features spacious accommodations, an observation sun deck, Sky Bar and Sun Pool, and three restaurants. With just 128 guests, this ship promises an intimate and upscale experience.
