Winter’s a-bloom in New Hampshire at Omni Mount Washington Resort and Bretton Woods. Along with skiing and other snow sports, guests can enjoy sleigh rides, tubing, canopy tours and scenic gondola rides.
New this season at Bretton Woods is a Pisten Bully 400 alpine grooming machine. The property also adds more HKD tower guns for snow-making on Fabyan’s Express. There’s also a new RFID ticketing system, allowing guests to purchase day tickets online that can be retrieved at self-service pick-up boxes throughout Base Lodge.
“We are looking forward to another unforgettable winter season at Omni Mount Washington Resort and welcoming back both longtime guests and newcomers to the resort,” said Steve Janicek, managing director, Omni Mount Washington Resort. “In addition to some of our classic offerings like our year-round canopy tour, gondola rides, and of course skiing at Bretton Woods, we are excited to re-introduce our Moonlit Snowshoe Tours this winter, as part of our monthly Moonlight Fun Nights, which are sure to be a unique experience celebrating some of winter’s favorite pastimes — with tubing, s’mores by the fire and après food, fun and festivities at the Nordic Center. Between the abundance of outdoor recreational activities, variety of dining options, and our beautiful 25,000-square-foot spa, there really is something for everyone to enjoy at Omni Mount Washington Resort.”
Specific events to look forward to this snow season include Magic of the Holidays through Dec. 25, with gingerbread-house decorating, Santa sleigh rides and crackling fires; Moonlight Fun Night on Dec. 14, with a Guided Moonlit Snowshoe Tour beneath through the snowy landscape to glimpse wildlife and enjoy the winter serenity; Après Ski at Bretton Woods Saturdays from Dec. 28 to March 1 with live music and cocktails; a New Year’s Eve Celebration Dec. 30 to Jan. 1; Winter Carnival Weekend from Jan. 18 to 20 with downhill skiing, wildlife adventures and other special events; Bretton Woods Winter Wine Festival Jan. 18 with art, entertainment, and a chance to sample outstanding wines and charcuterie; and the 49th Annual Geschmossel Nordic Race on Jan. 20, one of the oldest citizens’ races in New England. The 15-kilometer Nordic ski race is held on the Ammonoosuc trail network, part of the ZAK Cup Series.
This winter, skiers can also look forward to a Stay Here, Ski Free escape. Offered midweek during non-holiday periods at Omni Mount Washington Hotel and Omni Bretton Arms Inn, guests who stay a minimum of two nights receive two Bretton Woods lift tickets or Nordic trail passes for each night of their visit.
