Do you love The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, the award-winning comedy-drama about an Upper West Side Manhattan housewife with a flair for stand-up? We get it. On Location Tours welcomes fans of the show to indulge their enthusiasm for the spunky antics of Midge Maisel with a small-group, guided romp through the city to explore sites featured onscreen. These include the Gaslight Café comedy club where Midge first takes the stage, the Washington Square Park arch that was the setting for Midge’s infamous protest, and Lutzi’s Butcher — the spot where Midge memorably (and quite loudly) proclaims, “We’ve got the rabbi!”
The tour is conducted in a classic 1957 Chevy movie car. If the car looks familiar, that’s because the car also made an appearance in the Indiana Jones film franchise. The car’s seating allows for both comfort and built-in social distancing. To add to the fun, tour participants are invited to don their favorite 1950s outfits and slip into The Music Inn to check out the shop’s collection of vintage records and instruments and to pause at Café Reggio for a cappuccino. This café, incidentally, was the first in the country to offer the now-familiar coffee treat.
On Location Tours is a Concierge Choice Award Winner for Sightseeing and Tours and is one
of the largest television and movie tour companies in the world. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel two- hour site tours are conducted by New York City actresses who regale guests with behind-the-scenes stories while leading small groups through Manhattan neighborhoods including
Greenwich Village and the Gramercy area. The cost of the tour is $150 per person.
