The South Beach Hotel in Singapore will soon fall under new management as the hotel struck a deal with Marriott International, laying tracks for the international hotel chain´s first property in Singapore. The JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach will complete renovations of and a small amount of construction on the existing property but will remain open throughout the summer season. The lobby will undergo the greatest expansion and change with a redone spa and three new restaurants. Crews are scheduled to complete renovations and refurbishment in time for the property to re-launch under the Marriott name in November. In addition to this 634-room property, Marriott also plans to open a hotel under its luxury Edition brand. With an approximate debut date of 2019, the 190-room boutique hotel will be a completely new property and will cater to the high-end business travelers who frequent Singapore. Named The Singapore Edition, this hotel will be located in Singapore´s Orchard district. Marriott´s pending merger with Starwood Hotels & Resorts was a huge factor in Singapore´s decision to bring the international hotel chain to the city-state.
