The Bohoho, a boutique property in Camps Bay, South Africa, is 4.5 miles south of Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront, perhaps the city’s prettiest and most frequented district for dining venues, public art, hotels, ferry dock to Robben Island and the wonderful Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa.

Driving the M62 coastal road from Cape Town to Camps Bay, however, and staying at The Bohoho (aka Palm Springs) house, however, expands the experience. The three-bedroom Bohoho “is a dreamland property that channels the sun-drenched style of a 60s summer in Palm Springs and brings it to our time in a cocktail of punchy pop-art touches and sweeping ocean and mountain views,” said Daniela Gottschalk, owner and interior designer, The Bohoho. “For guests, staying at The Bohoho it is an experience that celebrates creativity, freedom and the kind of glamor that’s meant to be shared.”

In late 2024, Gottschalk opened access to travelers seeking sun-drenched afternoons and saturating sunsets, a place with its own alleyway entrance. On furniture, walls and canvasses is artwork with varying shades of Cerulean blue and lime green, with graphic black-and-white patterns and accents of mailbox red and metallic splashes.
Outside, artist Jonathan Adler’s red lips can be found on the curved outdoor swimming pool, with opulent blue and black marble tiles, and yellow and white striped patio umbrellas. Sit by the pool relaxing under the warm sun with your Cape Brewing beer or a cold white wine you bought at a winery in Stellenbosch, one of South Africa’s best wine regions, a 45-minute drive away.

The Bohoho’s three bedrooms and two baths can accommodate six–eight persons, and the fully equipped kitchen is great for cooking (food markets are nearby), unless you elect to eat at several good restaurants within a five–seven-minute drive, including Mantra Café, Paranga and Zenzero, all with ocean views. A flat-screen TV with streaming services is provided. Beach access and Camps Bay Beach is 1 mile from The Bohoho, while Beta Beach is 1.3 miles away.
Beyond its physical beauty, The Bohoho acts as a sanctuary for today’s creative explorers, digital storytellers, artists, writers and any other travelers who enjoy being an integral part of a unique experience, designed to stimulate creativity and inspire engagement.
