Longwood Gardens, America’s greatest center for horticultural display, located in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, recently unveiled Longwood Reimagined: A New Garden Experience. The new display celebrates the final stage of the garden’s biggest revitalization project in its 100-year history. Guests are invited to celebrate the grand opening with two weeks of festivities, including a members-only preview and special events.

Led by architecture firm WEISS/MANFREDI in collaboration with landscape architects Reed Hilderbrand, Longwood Reimagined increased its public spaces of the central grounds by adding new buildings and landscapes.

“The unveiling of Longwood Reimagined marks not only a milestone for Longwood Gardens but also a bold leap into the future of defining what it means to be a great garden of the world whose foundation is based upon horticultural excellence,” said Paul Redman, president and CEO, Longwood Gardens. “This project honors our legacy by embracing innovations and sustainability practices that define 21st-century garden artistry. We’re excited to invite our guests to experience the newest addition to our collection of world-class gardens with the unparalleled beauty and creativity that WEISS/MANFREDI and Reed Hilderbrand have brought to life through this transformational journey. With new spaces to explore and dynamic landscapes that evolve with the seasons, Longwood Reimagined ensures that every visit will offer a fresh, immersive experience.”

The centerpiece and largest element of Longwood Reimagined is a new glasshouse featuring an immersive Mediterranean Garden with planted islands, pools, canals and fountains. The garden incorporates three islands set on an expansive sheet of water, and is inspired by the gardens and landscapes of the six Mediterranean ecozones. Guests can cross over the stone paths and bridges to get to the brick terraces to admire the design. The garden is made up of more than 60 species of plants, including agaves, aloes, Blueblossoms and Dewplant. Other plants include shrubs, cypresses, canopy trees, vines, succulents and more.

The debut coordinates with Longwood Garden’s popular holiday spectacular, A Longwood Christmas, displaying more than half a million twinkling lights and fountain shows, running Nov. 22–Jan. 12. Guests visiting this winter are in for an aesthetically pleasing treat.

Sail on an Eco-Expedition Into the Wilds of the Amazon Rainforest

The Amazon Rainforest sat at the top of my bucket list for years, and I'd long wanted to explore the city of Manaus, otherwise known as the gilded city of the jungle. In the 1800s the rubber industry made Manaus the richest city in South America, earning it the nickname the Paris of the Tropics.

Accelerated Flight Schools Offer Faster Routes to Becoming a Pilot

Taking off at Van Nuys Airport in California, I felt gravity release its hold as my body lifted with the single-engine Piper Warrior airplane. I sat behind the controls, but I wasn’t flying. Instead, Capt. Gema Goeyardi, founder and CEO, 14DayPilot Flight Academy, flew me over Hollywood, Santa Monica and Malibu as I looked around, wide-eyed and giddy, wishing I knew how.

Linger in Sweden’s Glimmering Waterside Capital

If you were a seabird, or perhaps tethered to a balloon drifting through the blue heavens above Stockholm, the city would reveal itself as a collection of islands linked by bridges. It's no elaboration: Sweden's capital is actually an archipelago of 14 separate islands, joined to one another by more than 50 bridges that create an enticing embroidery of tantalizing neighborhoods and historic districts.

The Salil Hotel Riverside Review

There are luxury hotels throughout Bangkok that deftly combine minimalist style, decorative accents, historic Thai iconography and luxuriant amenities. While Salil Hotel Riverside Bangkok, opened in late 2023, falls into the 5-star boutique hotel category, it is, by design, not a run-of-the-mill luxury property. The lobby makes an immediate impression, while different public spaces, rooms and suites immerse one into an ambiance rooted in Thai history, all while capturing a Bangkok that is a touch irreverent and forward-looking.

Relieve Travel Stress with Wellness Treatments at Airline Lounges

Settling into the massage chair, I instantly feel the tension from the first flight of a long-haul travel day slip away. As the masseuse works out the knots in my neck and shoulders, I exhale deeply and sink into blissful relaxation. The massage concludes much too soon, but it does wonders in preparing my body for the next leg of my journey. Refreshed and energized, I make my way to the gate for my connecting flight.
