The Beaumont opened its doors following extensive renovations to the interior of the property. The London-based, Grade II-listed property underwent a redesign by New York-based designer Thierry Despont to create a sleeker interior reminiscent of the 1920s. With Art Deco as the main inspiration behind the redesign, the hotel added new murals, velvet and leather fabrics and a new color palette of cream, bronze and chocolate tones set against the hotel’s original details of cherry wood paneling and checkerboard flooring.
In addition to these renovations, the property added new spaces like the Mayfair Suite. The suite, which boasts a large sitting room, overlooks Brown Hart Gardens. The Mayfair Suite can also be configured as one-or two bedrooms. Outside, guests can experience The Terrace, another new feature of the hotel, where classic cocktails and light bites await guests on an outdoor patio adorned with greenery, café tables and 1920s-style rattan armchairs.
In March, The Beaumont will welcome Jonathan Joly, author of My Friends are Invisible. The hotel will continue its popular literary series into the summer with Minnie Driver of Managing Expectation: A Memoir in Essays in May, and Melvyn Bragg of Back in the Day: A Memoir in June. The hotel will host readings and talks with the authors, celebrating the best of British writing and showcasing young writers.
