A new app allows travelers to bid on available plane tickets within just two weeks of flying. The app, Air Ticket Arena, debuted last month and allows users to select flight preferences like date, destination and itinerary, and then place bids on how much they’d like to pay for a seat. Airlines decide which seats are available for bids and which bids to accept, 24–48 hours before a flight.
Return flights can be accessed up to 14 days after departing flights and users must place separate bids for each leg of the trip. Winning bids receive tickets electronically.
Air Ticket Arena founder Budinski told Runway Girl Network the initial seven airline partners include Turkish Airlines and Croatia Airlines. The company hopes to have 15 airlines by the end of 2018.
