Laqua Vineyard, located in the small Tuscan village of Casanova, is the fourth Laqua Resort Collection and the first in Tuscany, bringing Chef Cannavaccioulo’s taste and hospitality to a brand-new venue (it opened in summer 2022). Its restaurant gained a Michelin star within only five months of welcoming guests. Laqua Vineyard is a beautiful, six-suite property in the rolling Tuscan hills, with lovely outdoor views and interiors by Torino-based Studio Lamatilde.

“We are thrilled and enthusiastic about this new project of the Laqua Resorts Collection,” said  Cinzia and Antonino Cannavacciuolo.  “It has been only one year since we launched this brand with its new concept of hospitality and it still doesn’t feel real that we are able to bring our love for hospitality and cuisine to Tuscany, in such a unique place. It is our first time outside Piedmont or Campania, but we are sure that such a beloved destination, both nationally and internationally, with its great potential, will be for us a fundamental source of inspiration, from where we can start looking forward to a new and exciting future.”

Located between Pisa and Volterra, this property is the fourth resort of the collection, along with those in Meta di Sorrento, Ticciano and Lake Orta. Inside the village of Casanova, the ambience is of the same DNA as other Laqua Resorts.

The property offers Chef Cannavacciuolo’s first restaurant in Tuscany, as well as six suites, a wellness area and a private pool. The area around the restaurant includes a private garden accommodating diners during the warm summer nights, with a large wine-tasting table and open kitchen. With guests gathering like friends around the table, the setting becomes the venue’s most intimate and private space.

The Cannavacciuolo Vineyard Restaurant offers two tasting menus and one à la carte menu —  among the dishes, guests may find corzetti, scorpionfish, watercress and lemon; pigeon, rhubarb chutney, green apple and potatoes salad; or cod, tripe and onion in different textures. Leading the kitchen brigade is executive chef Marco Suriano, who trained within Relais Villa Crespi and other high-end hotels.

The design of the restaurant’s interior space, created by Studio Lamatilde, is influenced by the Rhino from nearby La Spinetta Winery, and the moon, borrowed from the golden circles of the Cannavacciuolo brand. The restaurant can host up to 30 guests, who can sit outside during the summer among corten planters and the magnificent natural landscape of Tuscany.

For special social occasions or corporate events, the restaurant can accommodate up to 60–70 persons. Because of the partnership with nearby Rivetti Family Wine Cellar, even larger events can be held in the romantic, arcaded portico surrounding the cellar itself. Every detail of these larger events is planned by a dedicated team, and menus are proposed and customized by the Cannavacciuolo Vineyard Restaurant team.

Near the restaurant are six guest suites, intimate interior spaces with an elegant and minimal design. All suites have different configurations and their own names inspired by mythological stories — Cupid, Aphrodite, Narcissus, Eurydice, Dionysus and Penelope — and each tells a tale about a trial of love, which comes to life in the interior design through objects and furniture pieces.

Equipped with one or two bedrooms, all suites are designed with a living area and kitchen. Laqua Vineyard also offers a private, outdoor swimming pool exclusively for the guests of the resort, overlooking the vineyards.

The resort is open from June to January. The Laqua Vineyard restaurant is open from 12:30 to 2 p.m. and 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The restaurant is closed on Monday and at lunch on Tuesday.
