KLM adds a new route between Amsterdam (AMS) and Las Vegas (LAS), marking the carrier’s 18th North American destination. The service flies twice a week starting June 6, 2019, increasing to three flights a week July 2.
The flight, KL0635, will leave Schiphol at 12:30 p.m., Friday and Sunday (as well as Tuesday, July 2), and land in Las Vegas at 2:15 p.m. The return flight, KL0636, leaves Las Vegas at 4:05 p.m., landing in Amsterdam at 11:05 a.m., the next day.
KLM will use a Boeing 787-9 plane with 294 seats — 30 in business class, 45 in Economy Comfort and 219 in economy.
KLM dropped flights to Freetown (FAN), Sierra Leone, and Monrovia (ROB), Liberia, to accommodate the Las Vegas flights.
“While the Freetown/Monrovia route launched in 2017 would have previously been given more time to grow in terms of performance, KLM is now compelled to deploy its fleet and slots differently,” KLM said in a statement. “Passengers with a reservation for a flight after March 29, 2019 from Amsterdam to these African destinations and vice versa will either be rebooked or reimbursed. Air France will continue to operate its direct service to Freetown from Paris Charles de Gaulle.”
