Tired of getting stink-eye from your cat, or seeing the look of reproach on your dog’s face when they see the suitcases come out? We get it — and so do the folks at British-based K9 Jets, who have more than 25 years of industry experience. Their fleet of charter Gulfstream G-IVSP and G-V heavy jets are operated by licensed carriers in the United States and serve multiple international gates and destinations, including Dubai, Melbourne, Paris, Frankfurt, Geneva and Milan. Domestic flights include round-trip service between Los Angeles and New Jersey. U.S. operators are Argus Platinum Rated, and can accommodate up to nine people passengers and their pets.
“Following the launch of our boutique private jet brokerage, G6 Aviation, in 2021, we began toreceive enquiries from clients and pet owners looking for alternative options to traditional pet shipping, in particular, an option that would allow them to share the cost of a private jet to fly transatlantic with their pets,” said Adam Golder, founder & client director, K9 JETS.
No dog crates are required, and a single seat purchase includes a maximum of two pets each weighing less than 50 pounds, or a single pet weighing more than 51 pounds. Should you be traveling with two pets falling into the larger category, you’ll be required to purchase two seats. Aircraft are equipped with comfy leather seats, an open bar, snacks, 110-volt outlets, complimentary domestic Gogo wireless internet and a worldwide satellite phone.
There are no size restrictions or quarantine, and no waiting lines for navigating customs or security. Cats must be secured in carriers, while dogs (depending upon their size) are allowed to sit on your lap or relax by the side of your seat. There are details to attend to, of course. Be sure to check the website to be certain of documentation and health requirements for your four-footed loved one.
“We realized that this was a service that wasn’t currently offered but one we could certainly fulfill; therefore, we decided to launch K9 JETS, the world’s first pet-dedicated, pay-per-seat, private jet service. Since then,” added Golder, “we’ve grown our destination network and have flown thousands of pets and their owners across the world. Demand for the service continues to grow, as do the requests for new destinations, which is why we’ve increased the frequency of some of our most popular routes.”

Nov 7, 2024Seek Serenity on Lesser-Known Greek Isles
I was handed a lantern as I stepped out of the taxi to meet up with some new friends who had invited me to a local harvest celebration high in the hills of the island of Samos. My unfortunate shoe choice (a pair of wedged heels) acted as an obvious reminder I was new on the island. Everyone in the group trudged up the uneven, rocky terrain with ease as I struggled to get my footing and grasp how I could have so wrongly interpreted “drinks on the terrace” to mean a sea-level abode.

Nov 7, 2024Embrace the Aloha Spirit on a Cruise to Hawai‘i
To say the Islands of Hawai‘i have long attracted travelers is an understatement. Fifteen hundred years ago, guided only by the stars, Polynesians crossed the Pacific Ocean and first set foot on the islands. Since then, European explorers, missionaries and businessmen discovered the islands in the late 1700s into the 1800s, each arriving with their own agendas. Tourism in Hawai‘i as we know it today began in the 1860s when Kīlauea, an active volcano on the Island of Hawai‘i, was considered a top destination for adventure travelers of the time.

Nov 5, 2024Set Off on a Tour of Extraordinary Mechanical Clocks Around the World
It’s approaching 3 o’clock in the afternoon in Bern. Jutting slightly into view at the end of the uneven stone street in the Swiss city’s historic heart stands a medieval tower adorned with the famous 15th-century “time bell,” Zytglogge. A small gathering forms at the tower’s base as the clock prepares to announce the hour — an event heralded by the crowing of a golden rooster, music and a dance of mechanical figures that include an assortment of jolly bears.
