IHG announced the signing of Kimpton Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The property is scheduled to open in 2022. It’s the second Kimpton property in the country and takes over the POST building, previously the city’s main post office.
Plans for the property include more than 200 guestrooms. Omnam Group is developing and opening the hotel.
“Rotterdam is the second-largest city in the Netherlands, growing in popularity with both domestic and international tourists and attracting a bustling leisure scene. It is an ideal fit for our Kimpton brand, whose heartfelt, personalized service and bold design will resonate well with this vibrant city. We’ve seen in Amsterdam just how well our luxury boutique offering has been received in Europe, and this new signing only reinforces momentum for Kimpton’s international expansion,” commented Karin Sheppard, managing director, Europe, IHG.
“The magnificent POST building deserves a carefully customized approach to design and hospitality. The Kimpton brand and philosophy is, simply put, a 100 percent fit. We are convinced that POST will become an international icon where people from all over the world will come, stay and enjoy,” added David Zisser, founder and CEO, Omnam Group.
