Hyatt is undergoing a concentrated period of growth across its luxury portfolio in the Americas, with Mexico at the heart of several major brand milestones and new openings. The rise of these brands reflects a greater movement toward elevated travel in the Americas.
“I couldn’t be more excited about our new luxury hotels – each individual, each thoughtful and gracefully designed with thought, taste and elegance,” said Tamara Lohan, global brand leader – Luxury, Hyatt. “Across the Americas, our portfolio is growing with those principles in mind: from the Park Hyatt brand’s next chapter in Mexico to the Alila brand’s expansion in the Riviera Maya earlier this year, to the independent character of the beautifully individual hotels in The Unbound Collection by Hyatt. Our focus is to grow thoughtfully and give travelers more choice while ensuring each hotel has a clear point of view and highly personal service at its center.”
Late last year, Park Hyatt made its debut in Mexico with Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol. Situated on the coast of Baja California Sur, this property boasts coastal views, oceanfront dining, wellness experiences shaped by the surrounding landscape, and contemporary Mexican architecture.
At the end of this year, Park Hyatt opens its first all-inclusive Park Hyatt property in the world and second Park Hyatt property in Mexico with Park Hyatt Riviera Maya. The hotel will sit on a secluded stretch of Mexico’s Caribbean coastline, offering a brand-new interpretation of the all-inclusive experience: one shaped by choice, discretion and thoughtful hosting. The new hotel will feature personalized pre-arrival planning to entirely à la carte dining.
Next spring, Park Hyatt Mexico City Polanco welcomes guests. The hotel, on Campos Elíseos, will span 155 guestrooms and suites, overlook Chapultepec Park, and feature Mexican art and designs. Guests will also find regionally inspired cuisine at on-site dining venues.
In addition to these three Park Hyatt properties in Mexico, Hyatt’s Unbound Collection also continues to grow through independent properties defined by distinctive history, service and architecture. Hyatt’s new wine country retreat in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, The Clayfield, draws on the region’s vineyards, expressed in its color palette, materials and finishes.
On Nov. 2, Impression Isla Mujeres transitions into the Unbound Collection by Hyatt. The switch will turn the adults-only, all-inclusive resort to a space with suite-led accommodations, butler service and highly personalized hospitality.
Grand Hyatt eyes Latin America and the Caribbean, with Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman, Grand Hyatt Cancun and Grand Hyatt Los Cabos all set to open by the end of 2026.
Hyatt’s Alila brand also expands. This past February, Alila Mayakoba opened on Riviera Maya, featuring 182 guestrooms, suites and villas; six dining destinations; and Alila Spa. The hotel’s well-being program was developed with local practitioners, adding a cultural dimension to experiences. And, starting Oct. 1, Alila Mayakoba, Alila Ventana Big Sur, Alila Napa Valley and Alila Marea Beach Resort Encinitas joins Erewhon Member Lifestyle Collection, introducing the Alila brand to an audience with a shared appreciation for well-being and intentional living.

Oct 23, 2026The Flight Less Taken: Unsung Carriers Whisk You Away to Far-Flung Destinations
The miracle of flight feels slightly less miraculous these days. Endless delays, cramped seating and shortchanged amenities feel par for the course, and one can easily forget the wondrous fact that you’re hurtling above planet Earth, soaring above the clouds and across the skies to your destination of choice. In the olden days, you were limited to the fallibility of your outrigger canoe or horse-drawn carriage. It’s not hyperbolic to invoke the invention of the wheel when reminding oneself to stay calm and carry on in coach.
