Hotel Indigo La Paz Puerta Cortés is an oasis where the desert meets the sea, nestled between the Sea of Cortez and La Paz Bay in Mexico. With an emphasis on providing guests a relaxing experience through wellness and culture activities, the hotel is a short 10-minute drive from Downtown La Paz, Mexico. Upon entrance under the porte cochere you are greeted with a palette of whites and browns, a theme constant throughout the property.

The beachfront resort is home to 115 rooms designed with warm and neutral colors, reflecting the surrounding landscape. Thanks to a facelift that spanned more than 1.5 years (completed in 2023), the property saw an upgrade from Costabaja Resort to an IHG hotel. The new guestrooms and standard king or queen suites provide either views of the golf course or the hotel’s sparkling pools.

From the tapestry in the lobby to furniture in each guestroom, materials like brass, orange and ocher, along with rustic objects such as red stones from the Sierra de la Laguna, are incorporated into the design. Resembling an abacus, the design of the lobby’s reception area features floor-to-ceiling black rods and layered brushed wood. Another element designed to provide comfort to guests is the brushed wood and textured paintings, inspired by the elements of the surrounding landscape, like the desert mountains, sand and corals found in the sea.

Offering a blend of serenity and adventure, desert and sea, spend your mornings on the private, white-sand beach on the Sea of Cortez before taking on all the day has in store. Explore the essence of La Paz along the Malecón or partake in water sports at the marina to take full advantage of your time in La Paz. Book a private charter and kitesurfing lesson.

If golf is your pleasure, book a tee time at El Cortés Golf Club, the only Gary Player Signature golf course in Mexico. Just steps from the hotel, the course caters to both experienced and novice players, along with providing a breathtaking backdrop along the way. All but one of the 18 holes provide views of the Sea of Cortez, with the signature 14th hole one of the longest par 5s in Mexico. Along perfectly manicured fairways and greens, you can see desert landscapes on one side and the turquoise sea on the other, presenting an idyllic golfing experience.

If relaxation is more your leisure, head over to Espiritu Spa, where a full menu of healing treatments, massages and facials, along with wellness journeys, are carefully curated for ultimate relaxation. The spa presents seven unique rituals, with Espiritu Ritual the most popular. For 80 minutes, the guiding hands of an ancestral experience will make you feel at peace and with harmony. It includes energy “cleanse,” a unique massage technique with lemons and flower balm. It ends with chakra balancing.

After an adventurous day in La Paz (or a relaxing day at the spa), take a swim in the infinity pool at Blue Cortés Beach Club and enjoy the mesmerizing sunset beyond. With a margarita in hand (the hotel’s signature drink), enjoy stunning views of the Bay of La Paz. For dinner choose from Barco, which serves international and Baja Med cuisine, or Cardon, an elevated fine dining experience by chef Enrique Valenzuela. Situated atop El Cortes Golf Club, bask in breathtaking views of the Bay of La Paz and enjoy innovative Mexican cuisine prepared with local ingredients. Among its specialties is the brunch menu, offering both savory and sweet items atop homemade bread.
