Hilton’s second hotel in Colombia and first hotel in Santa Marta opened this month. Hilton Santa Marta features 261 rooms, all situated within walking distance from the beach. Spacious guestrooms boast balconies overlooking the ocean or Sierra Nevada mountains, with interiors blending elements of stones, woods, metals and crystals with contemporary design.

Within rooms, woodwork engraved by local artisans showcases the area’s marine wildlife, with depictions of lionfish, turtles and manta rays. The Ocean Front Suite Terrace comes with an oversized furnished balcony with a hot tub, as well as a large living room and dining room.

The new hotel also features five unique culinary concepts highlighting both local and international flavors. Eateries include Sikunu, the highest rooftop bar and lounge in the city, which lies on the hotel’s 16^th floor; and Nuggu Restaurant and Bar, a restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, serving Latin soul and Caribbean Creole dishes. Other food options include Waku, located on the second floor near the spa and fitness center, which offers a wide selection of seafood.

An 11,000-square-foot event space, eight meeting rooms, a ballroom and infinity adults-only pool complete the luxurious amenities available to hotel guests. A spa with six treatment rooms, beauty salon and an Exclusive Lounge for Hilton Honors members and suite guests expects to open later this year. Santa Marta, Colombia lies less than 150 miles from the popular Cartagena.
