Maui’s Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, will be the site of Hawai’i’s first Nobu restaurant, set to open next summer. Nobu at Grand Wailea will mark the latest addition to the world-renowned Japanese restaurant empire founded by Nobu Matsuhisa and Robert De Niro.

The new restaurant will offer more than 13,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor alfresco dining spaces, with a dedicated sushi bar, striking murals and panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. Guests will enjoy iconic Nobu dishes like black cod with muso and yellowtail jalapeno, alongside the acclaimed sushi synonymous with Nobu.

“We are deeply excited to bring the Nobu signature dishes and dining experience that guests have come to cherish to Wailea Bay,” said Chef Nobu Matsuhisa. “The opportunity to share the classic dinner, alongside a curation of menu items exclusive to Grand Wailea, is a source of pride for us and allows us to expand the brand’s footprint within Hawaii with an aligned hotel partner.”

Nobu at Grand Wailea will join the resort’s newest opening, Olivine, which debuted June 2023. Olivine serves handmade pastas and seasonal dishes infusing local Hawaiian ingredients with authentic Italian flavors. Nobu at Grand Wailea will neighbor the resort’s signature restaurant, Humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa, relaunched in 2023 and offering an award-winning and locally inspired, seafood-focused menu.

Upgrades to Premium Economy Dazzle Passengers Who Crave Comfort and Convenience

Passengers who don’t have the means or inclination to spring for a seat in the front of the plane but want more than the bare-bones experience found back in coach increasingly choose a third option, premium economy. This cabin can offer the best of both worlds: some of the amenities and comfort of first or business class with a more approachable ticket price. Airlines recognize this trend, launching or beefing up premium-economy seats to appeal to discerning yet budget- minded travelers. Here’s what’s new in this buzzy category.

Sunflower Accessibility Program Featured at O’Hare and Midway Airports

Travelers with invisible disabilities passing through O’Hare and Midway International Airports can now discreetly signal they need assistance thanks to a new Chicago Department of Aviation partnership that helps create more accessible and inclusive spaces.

Airlines Tout New Products and Services to Pamper Premium-Class Passengers

Is it worth it? The airplane is the same, we’re flying the same route, we will all get there at the same time. And yet some passengers paid considerably more for their seats than others. On an international flight, a business-class ticket can cost four times more than economy, and first class may be 10 times more. If you’re budget-conscious, it’s a no-brainer: Why break the bank for a journey that will only last a few hours? But for regular flyers, business travelers, celebrities and many others, the advantages of a premium ticket outweigh the cost.

All Eyes Turn to Houston for Cultural Diversity, Great Eats and Economic Heat

When I first moved to Houston from Boston, I knew little about Texas’ largest city beyond Astros fandom and petroleum companies. To my delight and surprise, I was quickly smitten with Bayou City. After living through the merciless winters in New England, I rejoiced in being able to kick back on my patio in a t-shirt in February. Houston’s famous hospitality perhaps stems from its reputation as America’s most diverse city, a magnet for transplants ranging from Middle America to the most far-flung corners of the globe. And, of course, all that wonderful food doesn’t hurt — craft barbecue, mom-n-pop Vietnamese restaurants and fine dining rivaling New York or Los Angeles. I won’tshift my loyalty from the Sox to the ’Stros any time soon, but I’m darn-tootin’ glad to be in Texas.

Remarkable Medellín

Visiting Medellín in Colombia: The Country of Beauty is like stepping into a fantastic story — literally, as the city in the Western Colombian Andes region inspired Disney’s Encanto. Here, valleys, the world’s tallest palms, vibrant communities, colorful houses, garden-like balconies and more prove reality is more picturesque than anything on film. And it’s especially more tempting following Medellín’s remarkable transformation, shedding its troubled past and reawakening as a city of innovation, art, cultural richness, modern infrastructure, thriving tourism and resiliency.
