Greetings From Davos, Switzerland!

Whether you’re planning a seven-day holiday or a quick ski weekend, Davos is easy to reach from Zurich International Airport (ZRH).

A short two-hour drive and I was checking in for a much-anticipated five-night stay at the elegant Arabella Sheraton Hotel Seehof. Originally built in the 13th century, the 115-room hotel offers countless amenities, superior service, three restaurants, a lovely spa and stunning views from its guestrooms. Completely renovated in 1999, the elegant property right in the heart of Davos serves as a home-away-from-home for celebrities and politicians alike.

Never anticipating that North America would hit a snowfall record this winter, I purposely selected the ski resort of Davos for my winter getaway, secure in the knowledge that it would guarantee me a good snow base to enjoy the incredible variety of sporting activities this city has to offer. For skiers, the resort is ideal. In addition to its convenient location adjacent to the Paarsenn train-the starting point for all skiers-the hotel also features a Swiss Rent A Sport rental and supply shop. With the assistance of front desk clerk, Sabine, we prearranged via email our entire five-day slate of activities including skiing, tobogganing, snow shoeing and skating on a rink right in front of the hotel. At the end of one very busy day, we indulged ourselves at the hotel’s new Arabella Vita Spa-perfect for soothing tired muscles after a day on the slopes.

I wish you all safe travels as I head next from Europe to explore the heart of Asia. Until next time, happy trails.

A Fusion of History and Modernity Makes Bangkok a Perfect Meeting Spot

In this city of contrasts, glass skyscrapers stand behind century- old temples. Street food vendors sling steaming noodles along roadways while tucked-away restaurants serve multicourse, Michelin-level cuisine. Roadways jam with cars as jewel-toned tuk tuks whizz through the gridlock. Long considered a tourist mecca, Bangkok also makes for a dynamic, budding location for corporate travelers.

Remarkable Medellín

Visiting Medellín in Colombia: The Country of Beauty is like stepping into a fantastic story — literally, as the city in the Western Colombian Andes region inspired Disney’s Encanto. Here, valleys, the world’s tallest palms, vibrant communities, colorful houses, garden-like balconies and more prove reality is more picturesque than anything on film. And it’s especially more tempting following Medellín’s remarkable transformation, shedding its troubled past and reawakening as a city of innovation, art, cultural richness, modern infrastructure, thriving tourism and resiliency.
