The 2023 GT Tested Reader Survey awards gala was truly an evening to remember. Celebrating the best of the best in December 2023, we honored the winners of our 20th annual GT Tested Reader Survey awards at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena in Pasadena, California.
As voted by our readers, the winners received their awards amid the glamour and elegance of this iconic hotel. Beneath a gold-accented, arched ceiling surrounded by baby-blue walls, the event marked both a pivotal moment for many winners as well as for Global Traveler. As the 20th anniversary of the GT Tested Reader Survey, the festivities recognized two decades of Global Traveler’s highly anticipated event and the exceptional winners proud to take home the first-ever 20th consecutive year awards. Many winners also claimed awards for their fifth consecutive (Quint Status) and 10th consecutive (Hall of Fame) wins.
For the first time ever, Global Traveler awarded some recipients Platinum Status, winners of a category for 20 years in a row. This year Asiana Airlines took home two Platinum awards, one for Best Airline for Flight Attendants and one for Best Airline for Onboard Service. Also receiving Platinum Status, Chicago O’Hare International Airport won Best Airport in North America for the 20th consecutive year, and United MileagePlus won its 20th Best Overall Frequent-Flyer Program award. The awards not only honored the winners of the GT Tested Reader Survey awards but also the Airline and Hotel of the Year winners and honorees of our Outstanding Diversity & Inclusion in Travel awards.

For a city girl like me, stepping into the town square of Jackson, in northwest Wyoming, felt like walking onto a slicker set of the television show Gunsmoke. Wooden sawtooth facades surround Jackson’s Town Square (a.k.a. George Washington Memorial Park). Visitors stroll the boardwalk connecting the Western-style buildings, each with a large window displaying goods, restaurants and art galleries. Iconic arches, assembled with discarded elk antlers from nearby National Elk Refuge, perch on each corner of the town square. Stagecoaches pulled by teams of horses parade other city-dwellers around the park.
