Situated at the easternmost tip of the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana’s 30 miles of white-sand beaches border the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, where a coral reef creates calm, clear waters. Together, Punta Cana and Bávaro form La Costa del Coco, or the Coconut Coast, an area boasting lavish, all-inclusive resorts. Visitors enjoy snorkeling, diving, zip lining, windsurfing, kayaking, sailing and golfing, as well as national parks, local music, exquisite seafood and lively nightclubs.
GETTING THERE & AROUND
Punta Cana International Airport receives flights from 26 countries, including direct flights from several U.S. gateways. The Dominican government tax is now included in your airfare when entering the country as a tourist (verify with your carrier). Rental cars and taxis are available; taxis charge flat rates by destination. The best way to get around Punta Cana is on foot, if you’re staying at an all-inclusive resort, and by car if you plan to explore beyond. Traffic in Punta Cana is at constant gridlock; consider calling a taxi or Uber.

Nov 21, 2024Immerse in an Invigorating Thermal Journey at Scandinave Spa Whistler
The glittering green pines and burst of jasmine lake beyond almost made me forget about the aches in my legs that slowly developed after the promised hour-long hike ran into the third hour. And, oh, there were my hips, showing up to remind me I was no longer in my 20s. I didn’t mind, though, because the vision that surrounded me during our guided walk through Garibaldi Park to Cheakamus Lake in Whistler, British Columbia, with Mountain Skills Academy and Adventures proved worthy of a thousand postcards.
