Here’s something you probably thought you’d never see: the return of free meals to the folks sitting in the cheap seats on a domestic airline. That move comes courtesy of Delta Air Lines. Starting this month, the airline is doling out free meals to economy passengers on a handful of its longest domestic routes.

As of March 1, the carrier offers complimentary meals to customers on flights from New York (JFK) to Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO). April 24 will see more routes added to the program:

• Boston Logan International–San Francisco
• Boston–Los Angeles
• Boston–Seattle Tacoma International
• Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport–Los Angeles
• New York–Portland International
• New York– San Diego International
• New York–Seattle
• Seattle–Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International
• Seattle–Orlando International Airport
• Seattle–Raleigh Durham International

Passengers will be offered a variety of options depending on the time of day, including:

• Honey maple breakfast sandwich, Luvo breakfast medley or fruit and cheese plate
• Mesquite-smoked turkey combo, Luvo Mediterranean whole grain veggie wrap, or fruit and cheese plate during the day
• A breakfast bar during the pre-arrival beverage service on overnight flights

Delta Comfort+ passengers have the option to enjoy the same meals as above, plus a pre-arrival snack, complimentary alcohol and mid-service Greek frozen yogurt on flights from New York to Los Angeles and San Francisco.
