Etihad Airways and EL AL Israel Airlines recently announced a new agreement to expand on the existing codeshare relationship between the airlines. Through this expansion, members of Etihad Guest program and EL AL’s Matmid Frequent Flyer Club can earn and redeem miles on flights across both carriers’ networks.
“The frequent flyer cooperation with Etihad Airways provides additional options for EL AL’s Matmid members who can now use their points to fly the Etihad network,” said Ronen Galperin, CEO, Matmid Frequent Flyer Club. “This is part of our strategy to offer more choices for our members.”
EL AL Matmid members can redeem points on the Etihad network, including Tel Aviv to Abu Dhabi, for 800 points in Economy and 1,500 points in Business, while Etihad Guest members can redeem miles for travel with EL AL starting from 6,000 miles for economy and 10,000 miles for business.
Etihad Guest members can also now fly with EL AL on the network offered from Tel Aviv to more than 45 destinations, including places within the United States, Africa and the Far East. The two airlines are also exploring further opportunities to expand their cooperation.
