Another health and wellness experience popped up in Tokyo at the Palace Hotel Tokyo ahead of the 2020 Summer Olympics. The stay and spa offer, Energizing Tokyo, comes with an array of fitness options to refresh the body and mind. Highlights include swimming with an Olympian and a private meditation session with a Buddhist monk.
The package includes two nights in a deluxe balcony room or Executive Suite, daily breakfast and a choice of one 90-minute experience at Japan’s Evian SPA. The treatment options include a body treatment incorporating traditional Japanese Seitai acupressure work with a deep tissue-style massage to improve energy flow; a massage designed to improve the immune system and boost metabolism; or a massage to ease tension and relax muscles.
Guests also have the flexibility to add their choice of physical or meditative experiences at an additional charge. Some of the athletic experiences include a private two-hour swimming session with former Japanese Olympic swimmer Hanae Ito; a private three-hour biking excursion; a private three-hour jog around the city; and a private two-hour kayaking outing.
Some of the meditation options include two hours of private Zen meditation with the head monk of a 400-year-old Buddhist temple; a private Japanese tea ceremony conducted by a 90-year-old Japanese tea house master; or a private two-hour introduction to the art of Japanese calligraphy.
Package rates start from 172,000 yen ($1,577).
