All aboard for a floating heavy metal festival! From March 2 to 7, 2024, the Monsters of Rock Cruise hoists anchor and takes to the water for its 12th year of live music and fun.
The venue is Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas, sailing from the Port of Miami with port calls in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and Nassau, Bahamas.
More than 30 artists will rock it out on multiple stages. Among the huge line-up of scheduled performers are the Pat Travers Band, Tuff, KALEIDO, Joe Satriani, Extreme, The Darkness, Dangerous Toys, Vixen, FireHouse, Paradise Kitty, Joe Hoekstra, April Wine, Queensrÿche, British Lion and Quiet Riot.
Along with plenty of live music, the cruise will feature interactive events between passengers and artists, including Gong Show Karaoke, Cooking with Rock Stars, Painting with Rock Stars, So You Think You Can Shred and a TBA Rockers vs Average Joes sports competition. Additionally, the cruise will include theme nights, photo opportunities and special events.
One of Royal Caribbean’s Freedom-class vessels, the award-winning Independence of the Seas is fresh from a makeover that includes new dining venues and bars. On Deck 5, cruisers can enjoy a four-story boardwalk with access to restaurants, shopping, cafés and two main concert venues: Royal Theater and Studio B. Fares for the Monsters of Rock Cruise begin at $1,899 per person based on double occupancy, excluding taxes and fee supplements.

The property, with 26 acres of tropical landscaping, multiple water slides and numerous dining venues, is a beautiful resort. Last month, I brought my 13-year-old grandson to the property for two days of water-sliding in balmy mid-December weather.
