Celebrating the best of Asian and Asian American filmmaking, Colorado’s Dragon Boat Film Festival is a fun mix of screenings by established and emerging artists. The theme of this year’s event is Honoring Our Past to Guide Our Future, held March 14–16 at Denver Sie Center.

Launched in 2016, the festival’s stated goal is to, “Celebrate the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities by building bridges of awareness, knowledge and understanding between the different AANHPI communities through Asian and Asian American cinema.”

Tickets are now officially on sale. Opt for an all-access pass, and you’ll have complete access to all screenings, along with an array of special events and community conversations with a selection of participating filmmakers. The all-access pass also includes admission to the festival’s popular Culinary Experience, which features Denver’s top Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander restaurants and dining venues. Pass holders will also enjoy specially discounted prices at bars and concessions, plus a selection of complimentary drinks served at the bar.

Past festivals have been the launch pad for the premiers of a wide range of noteworthy films, which include RRR. Starring N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody and Olivia Morris, the film follows a pair of fictional revolutionaries who become heroes in the process of confronting tyranny and persecution.

The festival also hosted the comedic hit Everything Everywhere All at Once, starring Michele Yeoh as she confronts challenges that span a multiverse. The film won seven awards at the 95^th Academy Awards: Yeoh was awarded Best Actress, while cast members Jamie Lee Curtis and Ke Huy Quan were honored with Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor. The film also garnered Best Original Screenplay, Best Director; two Golden Globe Awards, a BAFTA and five Critics’ Choice Awards.
