Stoneacre Hospitality Group expanded its suite of offerings with the grand opening of the remodeled Chart House Inn in Newport, Rhode Island. Situated in the city’s historic district, the inn’s lengthy history adds character and charm to each room and suite. Its proximity to many of Newport’s restaurants, shops and museums makes it the ideal place to stay for a New England vacation.
Built in 1880, Chart House Inn offers seven guestrooms and suites, as well as a spacious salon and dining room where guests can relax. The remodel and renovation include updated and modern amenities and décor. Each room and suite is uniquely designed and named in honor of iconic women in history who come from Rhode Island. Three luxury suites sit on the second floor, each with large bedroom accommodations, private bathrooms and elegant sitting rooms.
The Mabel Norman suite honors Mabel Norman Cerio, a nature-loving local who donated her property to the nearby Norman Bird Sanctuary after passing away in 1949. The Jane Pickens Suite embodies old Hollywood appeal, while the Ida Lewis Suite pays homage to the woman who watched over Newport’s historic Lime Rock Lighthouse for years.
Each guestroom and suite includes complimentary refreshments, and Chart House Inn even provides guests with a drink token, redeemable at either of its sister restaurants. The property will soon serve afternoon wine and a selection of Stoneacre’s signature treats daily, 5–6 p.m. Guests can also order wine, beer and cocktails from Brasserie or Garden directly to their guestrooms. Room service is also available through the innkeeper.

Nov 7, 2024Embrace the Aloha Spirit on a Cruise to Hawai‘i
To say the Islands of Hawai‘i have long attracted travelers is an understatement. Fifteen hundred years ago, guided only by the stars, Polynesians crossed the Pacific Ocean and first set foot on the islands. Since then, European explorers, missionaries and businessmen discovered the islands in the late 1700s into the 1800s, each arriving with their own agendas. Tourism in Hawai‘i as we know it today began in the 1860s when Kīlauea, an active volcano on the Island of Hawai‘i, was considered a top destination for adventure travelers of the time.
