This month, Cathay Pacific launched inaugural Airbus A350 flights to Dusseldorf (DUS) from Hong Kong (HKG). The route operates four times weekly: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. An A350-900 serves the route, with 38 passengers in business class, 28 passengers in premium-economy class and 214 passengers in economy class. All seats feature touch-screen in-flight entertainment systems, power outlets and USB ports. In-flight WiFi is available. “We are delighted by the commitment shown by Cathay Pacific in Dusseldorf. This new partnership is yet another major success for our airport. The high-value business travel and tourism activity is concentrated here in the state capital. In developing new routes, we focus on local market requirements. In order to connect the export location of North Rhine-Westphalia with the key economic centers in the world, we need both high-value long-haul and European routes at Dusseldorf Airport,” said Thomas Schnalke, airport managing director, Dusseldorf Airport. Flights depart Hong Kong at 12:50 a.m., arriving at 7:15 a.m. in Dusseldorf. Return flights depart at 1:20 p.m., arriving at 6:35 a.m. the following day. Flight time is about 12 hours. “We are delighted to be able to offer our customers for the first time a second departure airport in Germany. Dusseldorf, like Frankfurt, is a strong business destination. This way, we can make a total of 11 weekly flights from Germany available to our customers,” said Tony Sham, Germany and Eastern Europe country manager, Cathay Pacific Airways.
