Canada’s National Parks Will Be Free In 2017

Daily

If you’ve been pondering a trip to any of Canada’s famed national parks, like Banff or Jasper, it may behoove you to wait until 2017. Canada is celebrating what is essentially the country’s 150th anniversary by waiving the entry fee on every single one of its more than 40 national parks for the entire year.

Annual passes to Canada’s national parks run $136.40 for a family of up to seven people, so there’s significant savings. If you buy a year-long pass in 2017, it will be good for 24 months instead of the usual 12. In addition, anyone who becomes a Canadian citizen in 2017 gets a free year-long pass to the parks to use in 2018.

Experiences in Canada’s national parks range from roughing it in the back-country to sleeping, dining and relaxing at luxurious park properties with high-end accommodations, spas, restaurants and other amenities.

Hotel Pilgrim Paris – Quartier Latin

I was eager to stay at the newly opened Hotel Pilgrim because its 5th arrondissement location is in the same Left Bank neighborhood where I lived in a rooming house when I was 19 studying at The Sorbonne. The hotel, with its distinctively designed, industrial-chic aesthetic, is an entirely contemporary experience.
