As a subscriber to Spotify, every year I look forward to when Spotify releases listeners’ Spotify Wrapped, a closer look into their listening habits throughout the year.
The report tells you what your top five most-listened-to artists and songs are as well as your top genre, listening habits, podcasts, how many minutes you’ve listened and much more. It also curates a playlist of your top 100 songs of the year, my favorite part. I haven’t stopped listening to mine since it came out.
When Spotify Wrapped comes out, everyone heads to Instagram to post a screenshot of their top artists and songs. There is always a big debate on social media where some people say the screenshots shouldn’t be posted because no one cares it and others saying they are interested and people should post it. I am among the people interested in seeing others and always post mine. And now I am going to share my results with the readers!
For the most part, I wasn’t surprised, except for one of my top artists. My top five artists in order are
- Taylor Swift
- Harry Styles
- Morgan Wallen
- Ed Sheeran
- Kanye West
The one I was shocked about was Kanye West. I feel like I listen to his music when it comes up on playlists, but I don’t go out of my way to put on his music. There was no surprise Taylor Swift was my top artist — she has claimed that spot for the past five years.
My top five songs included
- “I Bet You Think About Me” by Taylor Swift
- “Famous” by Kanye West
- “She’s all i wanna be” by Tate McRae
- “Mr. Blue Sky” by Electric Light Orchestra
- “As It Was” by Harry Styles
Kanye popped up in my top five songs, as well. I do feel like I listen to that song, but that’s it — I guess I listened more than I thought. The other songs weren’t surprising, though; I love them all, and some are even my go-to songs when I get in a car.
I was so excited when this came out and am already looking forward to next year, but for now I will be listening to my Top Songs 2022 playlist for the foreseeable future.

Remarkable Medellín
Visiting Medellín in Colombia: The Country of Beauty is like stepping into a fantastic story — literally, as the city in the Western Colombian Andes region inspired Disney’s Encanto. Here, valleys, the world’s tallest palms, vibrant communities, colorful houses, garden-like balconies and more prove reality is more picturesque than anything on film. And it’s especially more tempting following Medellín’s remarkable transformation, shedding its troubled past and reawakening as a city of innovation, art, cultural richness, modern infrastructure, thriving tourism and resiliency.
